On Monday – 13 July 2020, the City Mayor of Zamboanga, Hon. Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar formally turned over to the New ZAMCELCO led by the Coop’s General Manager, Engr. Gannymede Tiu the check amounting to Php 53.264 M representing the City’s cash assistance of Php 500 each for the 106,528 eligible and registered ZAMCELCO residential member-consumer-owners (MCOs) as of March 2020.
The LGU subsidy will be credited to the account of the MCOs upon payment of the coming JULY power bill. It forms part of the City’s second wave of relief assistance.
Joining the City Mayor and GM Tiu during the turnover were Vice Mayor Rommel Agan and Councilors Pinpin Pareja, Jihan Edding, El King Omaga, Bong Atilano, Jimmy Villaflores, and Kim Elago, and the Chief Finance Officer, Ms. Helen Ijirani, and Finance Manager, Mr. Bernie Barliso of the New ZAMCELCO.
